POSITION TITLE: CODE ENFORCER (PART-TIME)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: For purposes of 42 USC 12101:

Under supervision, interprets and enforces the City of Fremont exterior maintenance code. Conducts inspections of buildings and the uses of land in order to ensure compliance with the exterior maintenance code and identifies the existence of violations and initiates administrative action to address such violations. Provide notice of inspection results to property owners and tenants. Establish compliance schedule for property owners and tenants. Maintains inspection documents and records of exterior maintenance compliance and non-compliance. Makes records available for the use of City Council and the general public. Testifies in court as required. Prepares educational material for citizens and property owners concerning code regulations and enforcement. Maintains required licensures and certifications. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: An example of acceptable qualifications:
Completion of secondary education (high school or GED), code administration and exterior maintenance enforcement experience, basic computer skills. Must be able to qualify for and remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.

RATE OF PAY: $16.25/HR
